This document provides context for AI assistants (Claude Code, etc.) working on the OB Terminal plugin.

Project Overview

OB Terminal is a full-featured terminal emulator plugin for Obsidian, built with:

  • Frontend: TypeScript + Obsidian API + xterm.js
  • Backend: Golang (separate WebSocket server for PTY handling)
  • Communication: WebSocket protocol

The plugin uses a client-server architecture to work within Obsidian's security constraints while providing full terminal functionality.
